Your privacy is important to us.  To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.  To make this notice easy to find, we make it available from our homepage and from every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect:

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the BookFolk.com website.  We offer a service whereby you can enter your own book collection, and view those books uploaded by other users.  The types of personal information collected when your account is created are:

name
e-mail address

BookFolk.com uses cookie technology to maintain your login session.  The cookie contains a random number that serves as your session identifier, so that the site can keep track of you during your visit so that you can manage your own book collection.  Cookies do not capture your individual e-mail address or any private information about you.

The Way We Use Information:

Your name is collected so that we can welcome you to the site and identify you to other members.  It is used as a way to uniquely identify your account, and is used as your login name.  It is helpful if this is your first name, first name / last initial, or a nickname familiar to other members.  It does not have to be your real name if you so choose.

Your e-mail address is used to send you a reminder notice, at your request, in the event that you forget your password.  If you choose to make a book in your collection available for loan, other BookFolk members will be able to send you e-mail at the address you have provided to request to borrow a book.  If you request to borrow a book from another BookFolk member, your e-mail address will be used as the return address in the e-mail message sent to the book owner.  Lending and borrowing books on BookFolk's website is completely optional and voluntary.  For more information about book lending, please see BookFolk's book lending policy.

We do not share your personal information with outside parties.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

You can access and maintain all your personally identifiable information that we collect by simply clicking on the "My Account" link in the left menu.  If you wish to remove your account, you may do so by clicking on the "My Account" link in the left menu, and clicking on the "Delete" button.  This will remove all information about you from our system completely and permanently, including all books that you have entered.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by clicking on the "My Account" link in the left menu.
